Project Operations
The group will establish an executive in the near future. The exact structure
has yet to be decided, but will include representatives from both graduate
and undergraduate students. Executive members will be students from the College
of Physical and Engineering Science. Our intention is to become an accredited
student group through the CSA or CPES student council. Dr.Valerie Davidson
our faculty mentor will also monitor the progress of the group.
The main source of evaluation will come from the student members. Graduated and current members will be able to identify areas of need. Alumni contributors will also be another source of feedback about the progress of the group.
Project Funding
The WiSE group intends to approach university and industry sources for funding
in the future. Potential sources of university funding include the Student
Life Enhancement Fund, CPES Student Council, Central Students Association,
Engineering and other related Alumni Associations, Undergraduate and Graduate
Engineering Societies, and other discipline specific student councils. We
also feel that there is a potential for industry support. Many companies are
taking steps to increase the ratio of females to males in their workplaces.
By providing a means to better prepare students for the future, the employers
will also benefit.
